On the 8th and 9th October 2016, final year Public Relations students from UiTM Shah Alam went to orang asli Kaum Temuan’s community located in Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam to conduct a program with the children there on personal safety.
Prior to the programme, we visited the houses of Kaum Temuan to conduct a survey in order to recruit the children. On the activity day, the first program started with ice-breaking activities including dancing and defining dangers through drawing.
On the second day, the children were taught about their body parts, good and bad touches. Despite having to wake up early in the morning to join the program, the children were tremendously happy to be a part of it. The children seem to enjoy the games and dancing.
